On June 27, 2026, the mandatory national standard "Safety Requirements for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles - Combined Driving Assistance System" (GB 47955-2026), was officially released and is scheduled to come into effect on January 1, 2027.
IVEX is releasing software that will integrate Euro NCAP's 2026 Protocols into IVEX's NCAP Evaluator. Euro NCAP recently demonstrated its 2026 testing protocols at a media event held across the Netherlands and Belgium and is preparing for official vehicle evaluations across all safety stages: Safe Driving, that includes new On-road Driving evaluation, Crash Avoidance, Crash Protection, and Post Crash Safety.
The Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance signed a multilateral Memorandum of Understanding with government agencies, mobility companies, and research organizations to support a three-year Level 4 autonomous driving demonstration project in Gwangju, Korea. The initiative aims to validate autonomous driving technologies in real- world urban environments while addressing the emerging safety, liability, and insurance challenges posed by highly automated vehicles.
Waymo's driverless cars are involved in fewer crashes than human drivers, but the federal system for monitoring automated vehicles needs improvement, a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. Per vehicle mile traveled (VMT), Waymo's driverless vehicles deployed in San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Austin were involved in 68% fewer crashes than human drivers, researchers found.

Adhering to the principles of "professionalism, impartiality, scientific rigor, independence, and public welfare," the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) conducted evaluations on five vehicle models based on the 2023 C-IASI testing protocol. An expert review panel consisting of eight specialists randomly selected from universities, the insurance industry, and the automotive sector was formed to professionally assess the test data and evaluation results.
HERE Technologies announced that its HERE Road Alerts service now formally fulfills the requirements defined by Data for Road Safety (DFRS) to support Euro New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) scoring for real-time road hazard information. This milestone enables automakers using HERE Road Alerts to qualify for up to 1.35 Euro NCAP points, depending on implemented use cases and system capabilities.
ASEAN NCAP has released the ATB001: ASEAN Motorcycle Target (AMT) Specification Version 1.1, updating the previously released Version 1.0. The latest version introduces an amendment to Section 4: AMT Manufacturer, which provides the list of companies that have successfully established manufacturing capabilities for the ASEAN Motorcycle Target (AMT) in accordance with the specified key performance features.
KIDI/KART signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Toyota Lexus, to strengthen cooperation on vehicle data integration and enhance customer access to insurance benefits. Under the agreement, Toyota Lexus will provide detailed vehicle specifications and information on ADAS features equipped on Toyota and Lexus vehicles, while KIDI/KART will incorporate the information into the insurance information network used by insurers across Korea. The initiative is intended to improve the efficiency and accuracy of vehicle information used in automobile insurance services.
