The Global Institute for Motor Sport Safety and Toyota Motor Corporation have launched a four-year research project using Toyota's Total Human Model for Safety (THUMS) in computer simulations to further improve safety in motor sport.
ANSYS announced that it has acquired Computational Engineering International, Inc. (CEI), the developer of a suite of products that help engineers and scientists analyze, visualize and communicate simulation data. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
More than 500 people had gathered on the university campus to admire the result of a several month work and were extremely impressed. The blue.cruiser is distinguished not only by its exceptional design, but also by a package of innovation and sustainability.
Altair and the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) have announced the winners of the 5th annual Altair Enlighten Award, which strives to promote and celebrate innovation in automotive light-weighting.
With the increasing presence of electric drives, these are also being examined more critically with regard to their noise development. This is where the new engineering tool "Electric Drive Acoustics inside ANSYS? from CADFEM comes into play.
Rescale has announced that it has become a full member of the Automotive Simulation Center Stuttgart asc(s. The asc(s is a non-profit organization promoting high-performance simulation in virtual vehicle development. It consists of automotive OEMs and suppliers, software and hardware manufacturers, engineering service providers, and research institutes.
Sheet metal materials are often stressed to their limits during the forming process. Computer simulations are used to test how far it is possible to go in the production stage. However, the simulations are only as exact as the data upon which they're based.
Dolphins provide an excellent example for an elegant and economical movement in water. The nimble mammals achieve amazing swimming performance, the causes of which can be found in the body shape and in the elastic properties of their skin.
Fraunhofer IPM has partnered with Fraunhofer IWM to develop a new strain measurement system that combines the advantages of optical and mechanical measuring procedures and dramatically accelerates materials testing. This makes the new system a multifaceted tool for quickly performing material tests.
