At the center is a newly developed composite material, which significantly reduces the surface temperature on the dashboard of an electric vehicle under constant sunlight. The researchers at the Fraunhofer LBF achieved a temperature reduction of 46 percent. In addition, the novel structure saves the energy needed to operate the air conditioning system. That benefits the range of the vehicle.
