The high-precision localization of traffic objects in the system supports drivers and self-driving vehicles with information and makes traffic safer, more efficient and more comfortable. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is funding the "Providentia" project with 6.1 million Euros. An important tool in the development of the system is the simulation software CarMaker from IPG Automotive. Practical tests on the road in the digital test field on the A9 motorway are realistically transferred to the virtual world of CarMaker. Real-time traffic situations and objects are simulated in real time, enabling realistic tests of the entire system in a virtual test drive, taking into account uncertainties. If the interaction between sensors, Car2X components and driver assistance systems work in the scenarios, the next step is the real-time visualization in the vehicle. Then real-time data collected in the car during driving will be visualized on a laptop and the information supply of networked vehicles in actual traffic scenarios tested on the track.
