The future of electric cars, smartphones and other portable devices is tightly bound to batteries. In this context, battery technology is being extensively explored through 3D image-based modeling of simpleware, including electrode optimization and material performance. 3D imaging techniques such as X-ray CT and FIB-SEM make it possible to capture the geometry of battery materials at very fine scales. It analyzes properties such as the distribution of ions, the interaction between different active materials, and the effect of porosity on performance. Researchers using Simpleware software will use these 3D images to create high-quality computational models that are suitable for importing into physical solvers for physical property computation. The information obtained is then used to make better design decisions and understand defects.
