In vehicle design, gluing, in addition to riveting, screwing or welding, is an increasingly important technique for connecting different materials together. Also for assemblies that absorb impact energy occurring in an accident, they come into question in principle. However, so fare a suitable rubber-like adhesive is missing. Such an adhesive, which is physiologically and toxicologically safe and must cure quickly for production-technical reasons, the project partners want to develop. So they want to produce glued joints, which are, for example, in an accident on the one hand stable and on the other hand absorb as much impact energy.
