Altair Engineering, one of the pioneers of the Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software market, recently completed a very successful IPO on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. Altair has sold 12 million Class A shares on the initial public offering, representing a minority stake in the Company. 
The aim of the research and development work is to define and establish previously missing software standards in workflows of virtual engineering in the manufacturing industry. Currently, incompatible interfaces for the transfer of virtual material information require extensive manual adjustments. This leads to information losses and delays in the entire design process.
