 IIHS creates Safeguard Ratings for Partial AutomationThe Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is developing a new ratings program that evaluates the safeguards that vehicles with partial automation employ to help drivers stay focused on the road. The safeguards will be rated good, acceptable, marginal or poor. To earn a good rating, systems will need to ensure that the driver's eyes are directed at the road and their hands are either on the wheel or ready to grab it at all times. Escalating alerts and appropriate emergency procedures when the driver does not meet those conditions will also be required.

Euro NCAP kicks off the start of a new year of car safety testing by recognizing the top performers of last year and the winners of the 2021 Best in Class awards. Euro NCAP tested 33 new cars in 2021, of which 22 achieved the top 5-star rating.

NHTSA is issuing this final rule to establish Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 227, "Bus rollover structural integrity," to enhance the rollover structural integrity of over-the-road buses (motorcoaches), and other buses with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) greater than 11,793 kilograms (kg) (26,000 pounds (lb)). This final rule, issued pursuant to the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21), requires the buses to provide a "survival space" in a rollover test to protect occupants from possible collapse of the bus structure around them.

The joint solution integrates Foretellix's Foretify platform for product development, verification, and validation with the dSPACE Automotive Simulation Models (ASM) for HIL and SIL applications, allowing OEMs and Tier1s to ensure safety and reduce development costs and time to market of new ADS.

For quality control and assurance, the MD-Han'i gives you a pass or fail test condition in under 5 minutes, ensuring conformity of production by testing all vehicles to UN R152 ISO 19206-1:2018 standards. 
From now on, the CTS dummy production has a mobile X-ray unit at its disposal. The biofide PRIMUS dummy is the world's first dummy that can be X-rayed - and that is exactly what makes the comparison between real and recreated injuries or damage so special. Directly after a crash test, damage to bone and tissue parts of the PRIMUS dummy can be made visible by medical X-ray.
