Originally launched by a European Space Agency (ESA) project, ESAComp is now a basic technology used throughout the aerospace industry and has established itself in almost all industries where composite materials are used, including the marine industry, railway engineering as well as alternative energies and mechanical engineering. The cooperation between Altair and Componeering was initiated by their joint customer RUAG Space. The company turned to Altair with the request to investigate the possibility of exchanging data between the two software packages, thus initiating the joint development of a bidirectional interface.
