Pre-Conference Seminar Model Based Head Injury Criteria within Industry

CAE News |

In order to avoid injuries caused by the impact of the head in the vehicle interior or on the vehicle's outer skin, the development process for next generation protective devices must rely on model-based head injury criteria, determined purely by virtual or by coupling virtual and experimental techniques. These novel methods will take into account translational and rotational accelerations of the head and the full range of head injury mechanisms. By exploiting these new methods in the development process, it will be possible to develop structures that are optimized against biomechanical injury criteria, including the challenging aspect of minor head injuries.
