On April 17-18, 2018 we organize the 10th automotive CAE Grand Challenge in Hanau, Germany. In 7 sessions, speakers from industry, research and software development will report on their efforts to overcome the current challenges of automotive CAE. In addition to the lecture program you will receive valuable information in the workshops of our partners ASC(S, BETA CAE Systems, DATAdvance and Dynardo.

In September 2017 we have determined the 7 most critical current challenges of automotive CAE through a survey among the CAE experts of the international automotive industry. These form the topics of the sessions of the automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2018:

  • CAE general: CAE process supporting the development of physical prototypes
  • Crash: Overload and crash behavior of battery packs
  • Durability: Fatigue analysis of plastics and composites
  • Materials: Failure models for cast aluminum parts in crash
  • NVH: Prediction of engine and gear noise of electrical drives
  • Optimization & robustness: Robust design through numerical analysis
  • Safety: Meshing, folding and pre-processing of airbags

At the conference speakers from industry, research and software development will report on their work to overcome the current challenges of the automotive CAE.
