Computer models can simulate people's protective behavior before an impact. Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Short-Time Dynamics, Ernst-Mach-Institut, EMI use human models in crash simulations, which allow more realistic statements about the risk of injury. In their calculations, they focus on muscle stiffness, which has not been taken into account in previous studies.
