Structural Mechanics for Simulation Engineers

课程介绍

When applying modern computational methods, a solid basic knowledge is of central importance. Only those who understand the mechanical relationships can use simulation programs sensibly and, above all, correctly. Although every engineer has already learned some of these basics in his studies, an up-to-date and application-oriented refresher course will help you to quickly get to grips with the material again. The course introduces the fundamentals of statics and dynamics of rigid bodies that are relevant to structural mechanics computations - especially using the Finite Element Method (FEM). In statics, the course starts with elementary relationships, such as force equilibrium and internal forces, and leads via elasticity theory to the bending theory of the beam. In dynamics, the most important topics are recapitulated starting from kinematics, the concept of force and kinetics, through the fundamental relationships of the motion of rigid bodies, their systems, harmonic oscillations, to the dynamic deformations of elastic and plastic bodies.

谁该参加?

The course is intended for prospective and experienced computational engineers in industry who want to refresh and deepen their knowledge of structural mechanics.

课程目标

The aim of the course is to support simulation engineers in solving calculation tasks by refreshing and deepening their knowledge of the fundamentals in a targeted and practical manner. The understanding of the mechanical relationships allows them to find suitable modeling and modeling techniques for practical problems and to classify the various options of modern simulation software and apply them correctly.
