The application of virtual human models in vehicle development opens up fantastic possibilities to further increase comfort, ergonomics and safety of vehicles. Since 2007, our
Hexagon AB announced the acquisition of CAEfatigue Limited, a provider of mechanical fatigue simulation solutions used to improve manufacturing product design, quality, and reliability.
The ManuBrain project is creating a universal, scalable and open platform for applications of artificial intelligence in medium-sized industrial companies. Fraunhofer SCAI develops and evaluates processes of machine learning for engineering applications in the project.
The in-house team of 3D printing specialists developed an innovative design software together with the Berlin company trinckle. The goal: Every employee who needs a working aid from the 3D printer should be able to design it himself without extensive previous knowledge.
How is artificial intelligence (AI) received in corporate practice? What potential do companies expect from it, what effects do they hope and fear and where are AI technologies already used in practice?
For structures under dynamic loading, simulations and experiments are often used side by side. First of all, the simulation makes it possible to identify those points at which measurements should preferably be carried out. The results of the measurement can then be used to find differences in the simulation model, which allow the model to be adapted to the tested structure.

Altair calls for submissions for the 2020 Altair Enlighten Awards. The 8th Annual Enlighten Awards will again be presented together with the Center for Automotive Research (CAR). The award was created to honor the world's best initiatives to reduce vehicle weight and meet emissions targets.
ANSYS is paving the way for the next generation of innovation by lowering the barrier of adoption for simulation software through its growing academic program. Free student software ? a key component of the program ? recently surpassed more than one million downloads since its launch in late 2015.
So far, virtual human body models have been used in crash or impact simulation without clothing. The Human Body Dynamics Team at Fraunhofer EMI successfully developed a modeling method to put a soft ballistic vest on a body model (GHBMC M50-PS from Elemance) while standing.
