The future of small and medium-sized suppliers to the automotive industry lies in the digital development process. Since the first use of virtual simulation techniques in large automotive companies in the 1980s, numerical simulation has become an equal partner to design and testing with high forecast quality and can replace physical prototypes.
ANSYS announced that it has acquired Computational Engineering International, Inc. (CEI), the developer of a suite of products that help engineers and scientists analyze, visualize and communicate simulation data. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
