Short fiber reinforced thermoplastics are playing an increasingly important role in the automotive sector. So far, the fatigue of components made of these materials is usually evaluated based on the established methods in the field of metallic materials. A secured concept tailored to the characteristics of short-fiber-reinforced thermoplastics so far is not available. This applies in particular to the adequate consideration of the influences of fiber orientation, temperature, superimposed creep deformation and anisotropic notch influences.
