The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released 
Calspan has been officially certified by the Taiwanese government as a TNCAP (Taiwan New Car Assessment Program) laboratory, marking a significant milestone for the organization. Notably, Calspan is the only North American laboratory approved to perform the full scope of TNCAP testing, which is based on Euro NCAP protocols. All evaluations were conducted in Calspan's ISO/IEC 17025 accredited facilities across its Crash, Sled, Pedestrian Protection (PedPro), and Active Safety departments.
In January 2026, during the 24th session of the GRVA, UNECE reached a truly historic milestone: the adoption of a global regulation for Automated Driving Systems. This achievement marks the culmination of ten years of technical maturation and signals a decisive shift from research pilots to deployable, regulated automated mobility.
Geely Auto Group unveiled the Geely Safety Centre, now the world's largest and most advanced automotive safety testing facility. The safety centre spans an area of 45,000 m², with an initial investment of over 2 billion RMB, enabling Geely to accelerate the innovation of safety technologies and elevate global safety benchmarks.

ZF and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced a technology collaboration to provide a cutting-edge and scalable ADAS solution that combines advanced AI compute and perception capabilities. Powered by Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Ride system-on-chips (SoCs), the solution delivers a powerful and flexible platform for automated driving. ZF's ProAI supercomputer additionally integrates Snapdragon Ride Pilot and Vision stack for faster time-to-market and delivers turn-key systems to automotive manufacturers.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio improves to three stars for adult occupant protection, thanks to six airbags now being fitted as standard. A previous version of the Celerio, fitted with two airbags, achieved two stars for adult occupant safety and one star for child protection. That poor outcome prompted a commitment from Maruti Suzuki to raise safety standards in future models.
The Oasys LS-DYNA Environments' software is being used as part of a ground-breaking project led by the Centre for Future Transport and Cities (CFTC) at Coventry University with the aim of saving more pedestrian lives, roadside. CFTC has been awarded a prestigious grant from the Road Safety Trust (£409,319), for the project, "In-Situ Mobile Application for the Triage of Pedestrians in Vehicle Collision (SENTINEL)".
Perodua has marked another major achievement in vehicle safety in 2025 by earning its second ASEAN NCAP rating in 2025. The rating, granted by ASEAN NCAP, was awarded to the all-new Perodua Traz. This makes the Traz the fourth model under the Perodua brand to be assessed against the challenging 2021 2025 ASEAN NCAP protocol, joining the Perodua Ativa, Perodua Alza (2022), and the most recent Perodua QV-E.
dSPACE and MathWorks have expanded their partnership to streamline traffic simulation using open standards. Developers of autonomous driving applications can now use road models created in RoadRunner directly in ASM OpenX, the latest generation of dSPACE traffic models, improving efficiency and reducing development time.
