In 7 sessions, speakers from industry, research and software development will be reporting on their work to overcome the current challenges of automotive CAE. In addition, they will receive valuable information in the workshops of our partners ASC (S, BETA CAE Systems and EOMYS). Take part in the automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2019 and benefit from 42 lectures and 3 workshops. 
The EU-project VITUAL will have a long-term impact through providing better evaluation tools for vehicle safety. This enables the European car industry to produce more efficient safety systems and consequently reduce injuries and fatalities, and thus reduce the societal loss from traffic accidents.
In the next few years, a further increase in supercomputer performance is expected. For the resulting much larger amounts of data, Fraunhofer SCAI is developing efficient data analysis methods that also provide the engineer with detailed insights into the complex technical relationships.
ANSYS has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Granta Design, a provider of materials information technology. The acquisition expands ANSYS' portfolio into this important area, giving ANSYS customers access to material intelligence, including data that is critical to successful simulations.
Vector Informatics, Stuttgart-based specialist for development and testing of software and vehicle electronics, has taken over the Munich-based company TESIS GmbH. TESIS specializes in simulation solutions for virtual road tests, especially real-time engine and vehicle models.
An "innovative design and manufacturing process based on crash-energy-absorbing hyperelastic glues" is the aim of a research project at the TH Mittelhessen.
Noesis Solutions, the developer of Optimus and id8, and FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS announced the release of a new direct integration with CAESES®. By automating the creation of simulation-ready geometries and the related engineering simulations, Optimus can evaluate a vast number of design variants fast. This further extends the engineering insights delivered by simulation, enabling teams that use CAESES to identify designs offering benchmark performance.
In October 2018 the automotive Human Modeling Community gathered in Berlin, Germany for the 7th biennial International Symposium “Human Modeling and Simulation in Automotive Engineering”. In 6 sessions with topics ranging from injury assessment to active human models international experts reported in 36 presentations on the latest progress in research and application of digital human models in automotive engineering.
