Altair has announced that Altair Radioss is now available as an open-source technology under the name 
Jobin John, Corina Klug, Matej Kranjec, Erik Svenning and Johan Iraeus have recently published an article in Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology , which reports on the development of a new lineup of Human Body Models aimed primarily for virtual assessment of injuries in road accidents. This study was conducted in the VIRTUAL project, funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program under Grant Agreement No. 768960.
The world governing body of motorsport, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), has selected Siemens as an "Official Sustainability PLM Software Supplier" The FIA uses solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to work with F1 teams.
The projects include a study of human diversity in injury biomechanics, a look at technologies that can help prevent impaired drivers from endangering themselves or others, how to help predict when a driver is at risk of incapacitation or illness before it becomes an emergency and how to more effectively pass the operation of the vehicle between the driver and automation.
Time is an important factor in quality inspection: If you find defects in short time, you can correct them effectively and save costs. Together with Fraunhofer IEM, automotive supplier Benteler is relying on real-time sensor data and artificial intelligence for this purpose in the hot forming of vehicle parts. This means that production errors can be detected more quickly, corrected, and even avoided in the future.
In cooperation with IMechE, IPG Automotive co-hosted the "Lap Time Simulation Event". More than 60 teams from all over the world competed for the first place. In the competition, teams used the CarMaker simulation environment to robustly store and manage data and create virtual prototypes with the click of a mouse.
