How To Optimize Products for Performance and Sustainability

article imageDeveloping sustainable products is key to a company's success. From complying with regulatory requirements and meeting corporate net-zero goals to providing a superior consumer experience and reducing costs, a company s ability to design, develop, manufacture, and source parts and components sustainably strengthens its market position. While companies have developed many efficient processes for product development over the years, sustainability has often been an afterthought. To deliver innovative products that meet sustainability targets, companies must not only consider sustainability during the design phase, but also incorporate it as a key product requirement alongside form, performance, and cost over the entire product life cycle.

Accelerate Automotive Crashworthiness with AI

article imageCrash analysis is always amongst the top priorities of improving vehicle safety and performance in an automotive industry. The evolution in the powertrain technology will not make crash analysis obsolete. The safety of the battery pack has instead introduced a new challenge to the manufacturers. Meanwhile, the historically existing crash analysis have the potential to be upcycled to gain knowledge in advance for the design of battery packs in Electric Vehicles (EV) chassis. However, Automakers face the ever-growing challenge of designing safer, more efficient crash structures while balancing cost and development time.

Simulation of Nafion Membrane Using Marini3 Force Field

article imageMD calculation is a useful method for predicting material properties and is widely used for materials development. However, when dealing with slow-timescale phenomena such as polymer chain relaxation and phase separation, all-atom models are computationally expensive. Therefore, coarse-grained modeling can be used to perform calculations efficiently. In this case, we used the Martini3 force field, which is a general-purpose coarse-grained force field, to calculate the polymer electrolyte (Nafion) membranes applied in fuel cells.
