The CYBEX Anoris T i-Size sets a new benchmark as the safest seat ever tested by the ADAC, Stiwa, ÖAMTC and TCS. The forward-facing Anoris T i-Size has been awarded as the best child car seat ever tested in its class according to Stiftung Warentest and ADAC. The first seat with an integrated full-body airbag achieved in the category "Kleinkind plus Kind" an unprecedented overall score of 1.5 as well as a top score of 0.9 in crash safety and 1.2 in the overall category "safety".

Nissan's in-development Driver-assistance Technology aims to dramatically enhance Collision Avoidance

article imageNissan announced a new driver-assistance technology, which is currently in-development, that utilizes highly accurate, real-time information about the vehicle's surrounding environment to dramatically enhance collision avoidance. At a Nissan facility here, a test vehicle was used to demonstrate how this technology can automatically perform collision-avoidance maneuvers.

Top-of-the-Line Safety for Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen & Volvo

article imageEuro NCAP publishes its third round of safety results for 2022. The Kia EV6 and the Mercedes C-Class, both large family cars, are awarded the top five-star rating. Volvo's C40 Recharge also gets the full five stars as does the new Multivan from Volkswagen. Stellantis' cousins, the Opel/Vauxhall Astra and Peugeot 308, are both rated as four star cars in the small family category.

ZF presents new Collision Mitigation System for City Bus Applications

article imageZF announced that it is set to launch a pioneering Collision Mitigation System (CMS) for city buses. Offering active braking to help avoid frontal collisions with other road users, including vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians, the system also helps counter the adverse impact of braking momentum on passengers. Helping reduce the risk of accidents and injuries both inside and outside of the bus, the solution is the industry's first OEM independent CMS specifically engineered for city bus applications.

Transport Ministers and Policy Makers experience Stop The Crash Technologies

article imageGlobal NCAP and the Stop the Crash Partnership host live demonstrations of crash avoidance technologies during the opening of the OECD International Transport Forum Summit in Leipzig, Germany. Attending Ministers and policy makers invited to experience AEB for pedestrian protection and ABS for motorcycles demos. No easy Task for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to read Road Markings correctly

article imageIt is not always easy for advanced driver assistance systems to read road markings. Sunshine, shadows and rain are just some of the factors that can affect readability. The systems are also occasionally confused by longitudinal cracks. VTI researcher Sara Nygårdhs is project manager for Autonomous Vehicles and Road Markings (AVRM). Launched somewhat belatedly in spring 2021, the project is expected to be completed by July 2023.
