Vehicle Safety: First public X-ray Crash Test

Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for High-Speed Dynamics EMI use X-ray diagnostics in crash tests to visualise the behaviour of internal structures during an impact. At the 5th Dummy Crash Test Conference in Münster, 2 - 3 July 2025, they presented the first public X-ray crash test.

Toyoda Gosei accelerates Development of Motorcycle Airbag with Vehicle Crash Test

article imageToyoda Gosei is leveraging its expertise in safety systems for automobiles to develop an airbag for motorcycles as a part of the company's efforts for safer mobility in society. Aiming for an early market launch, it has recently conducted a crash test in-house with real vehicles. The findings obtained in this test are being used to refine the company's motorcycle rider protection technology.

TU Graz Study: Front Brake Lights could significantly Reduce the Number of Road Accidents

article imageThe idea of the front brake light has been around for some time, but no vehicle manufacturer has as yet implemented it. A research team led by Ernst Tomasch from the Institute of Vehicle Safety at Graz University of Technology in collaboration with the Bonn Institute for Legal and Traffic Psychology has now analysed their effect on road safety in an accident reconstruction study.

Accident Reduction Effects of R-AEB

article imageSamsung Traffic Safety Research Institute announced the results of a study on the effect of R-AEB-equipped vehicles on reducing pedestrian accidents while reversing. The announcement was the result of an analysis of actual accidents in Korea for a total of 174,332 vehicles, and it was found that equipped vehicles had 44.7 % fewer collisions with pedestrians while reversing than vehicles not equipped with the system.

UK Government must prioritise public Trust in Adoption of Automated Vehicles

Eye-Net and European OEM successfully advance Vehicle Safety with First-phase Testing
