Sebo Hofkamp Appointed Member of the Executive Board and Chief Operating Officer of TNOCommodore Sebo Hofkamp has been nominated by the Minister of Defence for appointment by Royal Decree as Chief Operating Officer and member of the Executive Board of TNO. On October 30 - 31, 2025 carhs.training and the Biomedical Engineering Center of Wayne State University (Detroit, MI, USA) are jointly organizing the 
Ansys and NVIDIA signed an agreement to license, sell, and support Omniverse technology embedded in Ansys simulation solutions. Through its integration of NVIDIA Omniverse, Ansys will deliver easy access to Omniverse technologies and libraries to customers, starting with its CFD and autonomous solutions. From deepening insights into aerodynamics to advancing autonomous vehicle safety and 6G connectivity, this collaboration fuels progress that empowers transformative solutions.
To prevent human injury in traffic accidents it is necessary to understand the biomechanics of impact. This can be achieved through experimental studies with volunteers or post-mortem human subjects. Mechanical anthropometric crash test dummies have been developed to provide tools for the development and assessment of safety systems under specific loading scenarios. With increasing computer capacity, human body models have become popular tools. This course covers the basics of impact biomechanics, such as human anatomy, population variance, mechanical properties of human tissues, and injury criteria. Finally, it focuses on computational models of the human body and their use in developing and evaluating safety systems. Karin Brolin is an internationally renowned expert in impact biomechanics and human modeling. 
Under dynamic loads, lightweight structures can be subject to vibrations that on the one hand generate disturbing noises and on the other lead to material fatigue. In the "LEICHT_DISS" project, friction elements were developed and evaluated that absorb vibration energy as part of lightweight structures and lead to a stabilization of the system. In addition to increased functionality and safety, the use of these new technologies also enables weight savings as well as economic and ecological potential in component design.

The scarcity and expense of fatigue data limits optimal design of components and constrains companies to a few well qualified materials when safety-critical applications are concerned. Scientists of Fraunhofer IWM together with colleagues at the University of California, Santa Barbara, have developed strategies for significantly improving the extraction of structured information from unstructured scientific literature -the largest corpus of fatigue data to date. They have published their findings on the ChemRxiv platform.

The European research project SELFY is setting new standards in cybersecurity for autonomous and connected vehicles. The aim is to detect and prevent security breaches at an early stage.
