 Cooperation between Euro NCAP and VSCCThe Vehicle Safety Certification Center (VSCC / Taiwan NCAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation (MOU) with Euro NCAP at the Euro NCAP headquarters in Leuven, Belgium, on September 1, 2023, which states that the two parties will establish close cooperation in the areas of new car safety assessment system and vehicle safety technology and regulations.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing vehicle safety standards with the long-awaited 
ADASKY has further developed its thermal sensor for automatic emergency braking for use in a pedestrian emergency braking system. This means that new cars also meet the more propsed stringent US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, according to which emergency braking systems must also protect pedestrians, not only in daylight but also in almost complete darkness.
Virtual simulation is set to play an increasingly important role in homologation, as the approval and certification process for vehicles is known. By enabling scalable testing to be performed, simulation provides a basis for tackling the complex and diverse tasks involved in validation and homologation and their accompanying scenarios. The safety and security requirements of this field are changing as rapidly as the technology itself. Accordingly, a succession of binding regulations from the UNECE and the EU's General Safety Regulation (GSR) are coming into effect.
Hyundai Mobis and Autotalks set to unveil their latest joint effort: Hyundai Mobis' MTCU (Multi-functional Telematics Control Unit) connectivity modules. MTCU Gen1, Hyundai Mobis' most advanced connectivity module to date, supports Day-1 V2X services in all geographies. Powered by Autotalks' V2X chipset, the MTCU Gen1 sets the standard for high-performance, globally compatible automotive V2X. Day-1 applications alert drivers in dangerous, non-line-of-sight situations, for example to avert a possible collision with a vehicle or bicycle at an intersection. Additional applications include alerts about road hazards.
The EDAG Group has carried out the first live tests on the highly automated CityBot vehicles at the real lab at its premises in Fulda. What EDAG has with the EDAG CityBots is a carefully thought-out ecosystem. With the help of specially developed control software, the multifunctional, highly automated robots are networked with one another and with the smart city infrastructure. The CityBots are modular in design, enabling them to be put to multifunctional use.
Waymo and Swiss Re 
Mobileye and Valeo announced a new partnership to deliver software-defined best-in class imaging radars for next-generation driver assist and automated driving features. By joining forces, Mobileye and Valeo can quickly bring a promising new technology to automakers worldwide that enables more intelligent vehicles. As a key part of sensing systems for automated driving, imaging radar will be an enabling element for more advanced hands-off ADAS solutions and eyes-off automated driving features on highways and urban streets.
Continental announced a partnership with Google Cloud. Together, the two companies are equipping cars with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), making Continental one of the first automotive suppliers to integrate Google Cloud capabilities directly into vehicle computers. With this, drivers can interact with their car in a natural dialogue.
How can autonomous driving be made more reliable? The "KI-FLEX" project presented its research results. The initiative was built around a high-performance, energy-efficient, and yet flexible hardware platform with the corresponding software framework, which uses AI technology to process and fuse data from various sensors. This allows vehicles to perceive and localize environmental stimuli in a manner that is fast, efficient, and reliable.
