University of Cambridge and Ansible Motion collaborate on Driver Behavior Research Project

Preemie Body Shapes Update

article imageThe preemie body shapes representing the 5th, 50th and 95th percentiles were updated to their version 1.0.1. A CAD-model was developed for each body shape, by Magnus Fridsell. The head and limbs of these models can be rotated into different sitting postures. A landmark for the head centre of gravity (CG) was added and can be used together with the CG for the whole body in the assessment of infant car seat design.

Top safety for popular Model Volkswagen Tera

article imageLatin NCAP publishes the fourth crash tests result for 2025 with five stars for the recently launched Volkswagen Tera. The Volkswagen Tera, made in Brazil, achieved five stars. The Tera that offers 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard and ADAS technologies as optional, achieved 89.88 % in Adult Occupant, 87.25 % in Child Occupant, 75.77 % in Pedestrian Protection and Vulnerable Road Users and 84.76 % in Safety Assist.

Being hit by an SUV increases the Likelihood of Death or serious Injury

article imageThe likelihood of a pedestrian or cyclist being fatally injured is 44 % higher if they are hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) or light truck vehicle (LTV) compared with smaller passenger cars, new research shows. For children there is an even larger effect, with a child hit by a SUV or LTV being 82 % more likely to be killed than a child hit by a passenger car.
