The new generation of Volvo Dynamic Steering is designed to detect a front tire puncture and in a split second automatically mitigate the impact by assisting the driver to keep the truck on a steady course. The bonnet height of new cars in Europe is increasing year on year, driven by the growth in SUV sales, putting all road users at risk, warns new research from T&E, supported by the FIA Foundation. The report 'Ever-higher: the dangerous rise of bonnet height, and the case to cap it' identifies that the average new car bonnet height is increasing by half a centimetre a year, reaching 83.8 cm in 2024, up from 76.9 cm in 2010, across the EU, the UK and Norway.

read more ... The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released new data estimating a notable decrease in people killed in crashes in the first three months of 2025. NHTSA projects that traffic fatalities declined about 6.3% in the first quarter, with 8,055 lives lost. This is the 12th consecutive quarterly decline in fatalities, and the estimated quarterly fatality rate is the lowest in six years.
