ANSYS has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire OPTIS, a premier provider of software for scientific simulation of light, human vision and physics-based visualization. The acquisition of OPTIS will extend ANSYS' industry-leading multiphysics-based portfolio into the increasingly important area of optical simulation.
The project EMMA-CC focuses on the digital modeling and simulation of human work activity. Using software, movements in manufacturing and production can be simulated, analyzed and made more ergonomic. Six Fraunhofer Institutes are involved in the project called Ergo-dynamic Moving Manikin with Cognitive Control.
An attractive mix of up-to-date and classic challenges of automotive CAE formed the topics of the sessions of the Grand Challenge 2018 and attracted a record number of participants.
On March 31, the Call for Papers for our 7th International Symposium Human Modeling and Simulation in Automotive Engineering, - which takes place on October 18-19, 2018 in Berlin, Germany - ended. The program advisory board of the symposium is enthusiastic about the quality and internationality of the presentation proposals submitted.
The automotive CAECompanion 2018/2019 provides information on our conferences and seminars in CAE and related areas. More than 50 pages of CAE knowledge provide invaluable information about the theory and application of numerical simulation in the CAE-based automotive development process.
On April 17-18 the 10th automotive CAE Grand Challenge will be held in Hanau, Germany. In the presentations, workshops and the exhibition, you will receive information on the current challenges of simulation in automotive development. During the breaks and at the evening event there is time for discussion with other experts of automotive CAE.
The use of virtual human models in vehicle development opens up fantastic opportunities to further increase comfort, ergonomics and safety of vehicles. Since 2007 our International Human Modeling Symposium provides a platform for the exchange between users, researchers and developers of digital human models for vehicle development. Occupant Protection for Autonomous Vehicles is the Focus Theme 2018.
Team Penske and Siemens PLM have entered into a new technical partnership. Under the multi-year agreement, Siemens will help enhance Team Penske's performance through full access to a wide variety of software products to enable advanced digital design and simulations.
For the homologation of alloy wheels, a number of standard tests have to be performed before such wheels are allowed to be used in cars. Such tests are bending fatigue test, radial fatigue test, and impact test.
Altair has acquired TES International's technology, intellectual property, and other assets. TES was founded in 1994 to service the "electronics cooling? market, and provides cross-industry software solutions for thermal design and packaging, custom programming, general heat transfer, stress and vibration analysis, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Their main CFD software, ElectroFlo, is an electronics cooling package designed for high power-density applications.
