CATARC has recently updated its dynamic mechanical data base for numerical simulation in vehicle development. More than 166 steels are now available. The properties include static and dynamic mechanical characteristics which cover strain rates from 0.001/s to 600/s ( 0.001/s, 25/s, 50/s, 100/s, 200/s, 400/s, 600/s). The data base covers the products from most major iron and steel enterprises in China such as Baosteel, Anshan Iron and steel, WISCO, Shougang group, HBIS group etc. The material types cover the common metal materials for coachwork such as DC series, QP series, DP series, MS series, TWIP series, low alloy high strength steels series, SAPH series etc. The update version added aluminum materials, which are the major products from major aluminum enterprises in China such as ZHONGWANG aluminum Industry, ALUMINUM CORPORATION OF CHINA LIMITED, NANSHAN aluminum Industry etc. The strain rates tested are the same as the steels. In addition, some material failure models are now available in the material database. The data base can be directly referenced by LS-DYNA, PAM-CRASH, ABAQUS and others. The data base can be bought or rented annually. A trial version is available upon request.
