Determine Cable Properties quickly and easily

Up to three kilometers of cable are installed in a car. They supply engines, sensors, on-board computers, parking aids, lamps and more. Accommodating this large number of cables is no simple matter: they must not get tangled up or slip over sharp edges where they can be scoured - after all, this could cause individual components to fail possibly impair the safety of the occupants and lead to expensive and image damaging recalls of the vehicles. Many automobile manufacturers therefore rely on the IPS Cable Simulation software developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM and the Fraunhofer-Chalmers Research Center FCC. With it you can simulate in real time how cables are best laid in the vehicle. But even the best simulation can only come to useful results if the realistic physical parameters are entered as the basis for the calculation.
