Today, motion studies necessary for validation of ergonomic characteristics are physically completed. These are elaborately carried out on models of the cabin with volunteers and are time consuming and costly. Therefore, there is a need to find a digital solution. Human Solutions wants to achieve this with the research project DELFIN (Dynamic Evaluation of Vehicle Occupants) and to make its digital human model RAMSIS articulate.

The research project DELFIN also involves Advanced Realtime Tracking GmbH. It will continue to refine its existing motion capture system, combining high levels of comfort, minimization of rework and maximum precision to deliver a new level of motion capture ergonomics.

The Institute of Mechantronics of the TU Chemnitz and the Department of Ergonomics of the Technical University of Munich are also involved in the project. The joint project DELFIN is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the program "SME-innovative" and runs from 01.05.2019 to 30.04.2022
