In addition, more complex component geometries previously impossible can be realized with the new and precise simulation. "We have built the new process modular so that it can be flexibly applied to a large number of materials," explains Dr. Maksim Zapara, head of the massive forming team of the group of forming processes at the Fraunhofer IWM.
