In cooperation with the Institute for Composite Materials (IVW), CAE specialist TECOSIM is currently developing a simulation tool that enables the lifetime estimation of a component made of continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastics. In particular, the development of this tool will aim to experimentally determine as few material characteristics as possible to achieve maximum time and cost efficiency. Therefore, another focus of the work is the development of a methodology with which the material characteristic values for the calculation tool can be determined with the least possible experimental effort. The aim of the project is the development of a calculation tool for lifetime estimation of continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastics.
