The requirements for industrial designs are becoming more and more complex. On the way to the optimum, various parameters are only changed by fractions. Being able to recognize the effects of these changes at a glance after each step often remains wishful thinking with current simulation solutions. In 2018, the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD presented a preliminary version of its structural mechanics solver RISTRA (Rapid Interactive Structural Analysis), which significantly shortens simulation time by transferring calculations to the graphics card. In its update 2019 RISTRA delivers even faster results.
