This new release focuses on the further facilitation of visualization of data by introducing new panel types and new data handling capabilities. >>Ansys ModelCenter Now Includes Ansys optiSLang Optimization AlgorithmsThe ability to efficiently bridge the gap between system-level conceptual design and detailed component design is crucial. This process involves refining multidisciplinary design requirements, validating design iterations through physics-based simulations, and optimizing design parameters to achieve the best trade-offs early in the design cycle. Ansys ModelCenter, integrated with the powerful multiparameter optimization algorithms from Ansys optiSLang, offers a transformative workflow that seamlessly connects these phases, enabling engineers to design cutting-edge solutions while considering cost constraints. >>VOLTA and modeFRONTIER 2023R2 Available NowVOLTA rolls out the new Services feature, linking simulations to the business processes. modeFRONTIER adds a Python-based Design of Experiments (DOE) module to its design space exploration toolkit, task being: injecting and delivering data from simulation workflows to business processes. >>Ansys Appoints Kathleen Weslock as Vice President Human ResourcesAnsys has named Kathleen Weslock, an industry veteran with decades of experience in human resources, labor relations, and mergers and acquisitions, as its vice president of human resources. Weslock brings decades of experience in fostering corporate cultures and ability to scale HR organizations. >>Supporting Women at the Forefront of AI in HeilbronnFraunhofer IAO and the non-profit association Women in AI & Robotics are joining forces by launching their new collaboration and founding the "Heilbronn Chapter" to support women in the AI and robotics fields in the Heilbronn-Franconia region. >>Bertrandt Wins German Brand AwardsIts rebranding has been a resounding success: the leading engineering service provider has received not one but two German Brand Awards for its new brand identity. Bertrandt was named "Winner" in the category "Excellent Brands - Industry, Machines & Engineering" and also received a "Special Mention" award in the category "Excellent Brands - Corporate Brand of the Year". The German Brand Award is one of Germany s most important and prestigious brand awards. >> |
Formula Student: Suspension OptimizationIn this project, a group of students from Formula Student optimized the attachment points of the rear suspension of the new version of their racing bolide using pSeven. The kinematics of the suspension directly depends on the attachment points of the suspension. And in turn, the cornering speed of the bolide depends on the kinematics.

More and more engineers from various departments are faced with NVH design responsibilities, although they sometimes lack a solid background in acoustics. In this 12-hour online learning course, divided into 6 sessions two hours each, the basic concepts of acoustics are introduced. Each concept is explained using real-world examples from automotive engineering. Prof. Jean-Louis Migeot is a veteran of acoustic simulation, founder and former CEO of Free Field Technologies, the original developer of Hexagon's Actran acoustic finite element solver. read more ... An Overview About the Use of Dynamic Human Body Models in Vehicle SafetySignificant trends in the vehicle industry are autonomous driving, micro-mobility, electrification and the increased use of shared mobility solutions. These new mobility classes lead to a larger number of occupant positions, interiors and load directions. As safety systems interact with and protect occupants, it is essential to place the human, with its variability and vulnerability, at the center of the design and operation of these systems. Digital human body models (HBMs) can help meet these requirements and are therefore increasingly being integrated into the development of new vehicle models. The contribution provides an overview of current HBMs and their applications in vehicle safety in different driving modes.
