When developing car bodies, a wide range of requirements must be taken into account. One key discipline is vehicle safety, whose requirements must be met by the car body while observing lightweight construction principles. To this end, engineers need in-depth knowledge of the crash behavior of mechanical structures. This physical knowledge and the use of modern development tools for design and simulation enable efficient development without unnecessary iteration loops. They also need knowledge of the possibilities offered by modern lightweight construction. The seminar covers both of these areas! The seminar is aimed at designers, analysis, and test engineers, as well as project managers and executives from the field of car body development. The trainer is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Schumacher from the University of Wuppertal.

The internationally leading engineering service provider FEV and the Japanese technology company Nature Architects (NA) have agreed on a strategic cooperation. The goal is to jointly develop novel vehicle structures that set new standards in lightweight construction, functionality, and development dynamics through innovative design methods using artificial intelligence (AI). But how can you systematically get started with parametric models especially for geometries?
rFpro and Siemens Digital Industries Software (Siemens) have jointly developed a new simulation capability that integrates Siemens' Simcenter Tire software with rFpro's TerrainServer, which provides a millimetre-accurate digital model of the road surface. The new interface allows the MF-Tyre and MF-Swift models in Simcenter Tire to directly interrogate rFpro's TerrainServer surface data and calculate tyre forces and moments for vehicle models. It enables highly-accurate simulations of how a tyre interacts with the road, a key requirement in virtual testing for both automotive and motorsport development.

Sumitomo Riko is implementing Ansys, part of Synopsys, Inc. AI technology to accelerate time-to-solution and improve efficiency during the design and manufacturing of automotive components. SimAI rapidly analyzes new or legacy simulation data to generate high-fidelity AI models capable of quickly predicting performance. Sumitomo Riko is using SimAI to accelerate computation-heavy tasks like anti-vibration design and exploration, battery cooling, magnetic field analysis, and mixing heat transfer analysis.
