Autoliv China and Great Wall Motor intend to collaborate to address opportunities and challenges in the rapidly evolving global automotive landscape. Through this new collaboration, Autoliv further strengthens its position with Chinese OEMs. Great Wall Motor produces and sells vehicles under its own branding, such as Great Wall, Haval, WEY, TANK, and POER. It also produces dedicated electric vehicles under the brand name ORA. Autoliv has worked with Great Wall Motor since 2003, when Autoliv developed and began supplying seat belts for Haval SUVs.

Stellantis celebrated the grand opening of its first Battery Technology Center, at the Mirafiori complex in Turin, Italy. The 40 million investment to develop this state-of-the-art center enhances Stellantis capabilities to design, develop and test battery packs, modules, high-voltage cells and software that will power upcoming Stellantis brand vehicles. The center is the biggest in Italy and among the largest in Europe.
Finnish engineers have developed a sensor-based system that can help save tens of thousands of children - and even pets - locked up in cars, intentionally or accidentally, from heat-related deaths each year. The new PictM technology is a solution to calls from US and European safety regulators' that new rules be implemented mandating child presence detection (CPD) systems in new cars. This will help avoid senseless heat-stroke deaths of unattended children.
AVL supplies innovative tools, equipment and solutions for the simulation and testing of battery systems for electromobility. This allows existing, as well as possible future, innovative material and system combinations to be virtually mapped and tested under real conditions and during charging and discharging cycles.
As Ford continues to evolve how the company offers products and services, this includes the way customers access BlueCruise - Ford's hands-free highway driving technology. Ford now is including BlueCruise hardware standard from the factory to provide flexibility and choices to more customers.
TECOSIM is participating in the research project "Solid4E - enhancing the maturity of solid-state joining processes to ensure resource-efficient e-mobility concepts through multilateral technology transfer". Within the project, TECOSIM is developing a simulation and design method for structural durability and static strength in copper-aluminium friction-welded joints.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released its early estimates of traffic fatalities for the first half of 2023, estimating that traffic fatalities declined for the fifth straight quarter. An estimated 19,515 people died in motor vehicle traffic crashes, representing a decrease of about 3.3 % as compared to 20,190 fatalities in the first half of 2022. Fatalities declined in both the first and second quarters of 2023.
