To keep the Malaysian road users updated with the ASEAN NCAP activities, assessment protocol and the upcoming roadmap, ASEAN NCAP organized a Media Engagement Day with a number of local medias, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and also related stakeholders. The objectives of the event were: (i) to promote ASEAN NCAP activities to the Malaysian media; (ii) to provide extensive briefing regarding ASEAN NCAP star rating, its assessment protocol and results interpretation; and (iii) to disseminate knowledge of occupant injury from vehicle collision and publicize vehicle safety information to the Malaysian media.

With increasingly automated driving functions, Bosch is creating the technological foundations that will allow drivers to take their eyes off the road for a short while. This depends crucially on reliable information about the vehicle's surroundings.
In the future the Technical University of Munich (TUM) will have its own test field for its mobility research. The facility in Taufkirchen/Ottobrunn near Munich will make it possible to investigate complex traffic scenarios under laboratory conditions. The laboratory will also support research on the interaction of the autonomous traffic systems of the future and their safe and standardized operation. The State of Bavaria is providing financial support to the project.
Autonomous vehicles represent a transformative advancement in transportation, with the potential to revolutionize mobility and improve road safety. From cameras to lidar and radar, these sensors provide crucial data that enables the vehicle s software to make real-time decisions.
Innovusion have joined forces. The objective: To speed up commercial vehicle automation by providing a robust and integrated solution designed for a diverse range of environments, including agriculture, container yards, and highways. Continental delivers V-shaped displays to equip vehicle manufacturer Hyundai. The technology company's state-of-the-art display solution will now be part of the new Hyundai Kona series, which is on the market since 2023. The display offers a two-in-one solution as it combines the two screens of the instrument cluster and center information display under one glass surface. Additionally, the new Hyundai Kona features over-the-air (OTA) software updates for new functions, design and interaction possibilities in the vehicle, which can be managed via the V-shape display.
Certification and homologation through Virtual Testing has been a goal in the automotive industry for some time. Ever-increasing demands from consumer advocates and legislators are accelerating the acceptance of procedures to use Virtual Testing as an alternative or complement to physical testing and homologation. The course provides an introduction to virtual testing-based assessment for both regulatory and NCAP requirements. The trainer Andre Eggers has been a research associate at the German Federal Highway Research Institute since 2006 and works in the fields of biomechanics, evaluation of dummies, human models and virtual testing.
New research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that drivers who use advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) grow more comfortable with the technology over time -sometimes too comfortable. After weeks of using ADAS, attention to driving tended to drop. However, these drivers also used ADAS more when highway demands were lower.
