 Most new Boosters earn highest IIHS RatingForty-seven out of 54 booster seats introduced last year earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's highest rating of BEST BET. The BEST BET rating means a booster provides good seat belt fit for typical 4- to 8-year-olds in almost any car, minivan or SUV. Boosters that are rated GOOD BETs provide acceptable belt fit in almost any vehicle, while those rated Check Fit could work for some children in some vehicles. Seats designated Not Recommended don t provide good belt fit and should be avoided.

Humanetics and Ansys announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a minority ownership interest in Humanetics from Bridgepoint, the global private equity firm that first invested in Humanetics in 2018. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and receipt of required regulatory approvals. Humanetics is a leading provider of physical and digital human safety systems and sensor technologies.
Synopsys and Ansys have announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Synopsys will acquire Ansys. Bringing together Synopsys' pioneering semiconductor electronic design automation (EDA) with Ansys' broad simulation and analysis portfolio will create a leader in silicon to systems design solutions.
The 
Farasis Energy is part of a research consortium together with the company Kautex Textron GmbH & Co. KG (supplier of energy storage systems) and the Fraunhofer Institute for High-Speed Dynamics, Ernst-Mach-Institut, EMI. This aims to make plastic-based battery housings safer by means of virtual design and thus increase the safety of electric vehicles.
Results from the project foster the uptake of Virtual Testing. Contributions include the OpenVT platform, OVTO, seated and standing VIVA+ 50F and 50M, as well as the integrated assessment chain and more. They provide the VIVA+ models as female and male average road users. In future, the models can be used to represent all ages and sizes.
Euro NCAP releases its annual 
Nuro and Foretellix have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the safe and large-scale deployment of autonomous vehicles for last-mile delivery. Foretellix's verification and validation solution will help to ensure the safety of the Nuro Driver through the use of large-scale automated testing.
Crash simulations help to improve safety, reduce development costs, and accelerate the automotive design process with respect to traditional prototype-and-test procedures. Crash simulations continue to evolve. They are now incorporating AI technology that feeds on generated simulations. This recent evolution could take place because in the last years, a large amount of simulation has been carried out and stored.

As we approach the new year, SAFER welcomes two professionals to its board: Professor Mats Svensson, Chalmers University and Senior lecturer Dr. Aliaksei Laureshyn from Lund University. Aliaksei, serving as the Head of the Department of Technology & Society at the university, also holds the position of Editor-in-chief for the Traffic Safety Research journal. Meanwhile, Mats Svensson, occupying a professorial role at Chalmers, leads the Division of Vehicle Safety, Mechanics, and Maritime Sciences.
