AR Tool could give Cyclists 'sixth Sense' and improve Self-driving Vehicle Safety

article imageA new tool which can rapidly prototype augmented reality experiences has given researchers new insights which could allow cyclists to safely share the roads with self-driving cars. Researchers from the University of Glasgow developed the tool, called CycleARcade, which uses augmented reality headsets to enables cyclists to see and interact with simulated autonomous vehicles as they ride in real-world environments.

China Electric Vehicle Fire Safety Index - Workshop under the Guidance of Dr. Chen Bin from CMVR

article imageThe C-EVFI is a challenging assessment for electric vehicles that focuses on the protection of vehicle occupants in the event of battery thermal runaway. It addresses this by evaluating safety warnings, emergency rescue, fire protection and data monitoring. At SafetyWeek, Dr. Chen Bin of CMVR - China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute, the organization that launched the C-EVFI, will provide an in-depth look at the current assessment program and upcoming enhancements to the index. The workshop will be held on the first afternoon of SafetyWeek (May 13) and is open to all SafetyWeek attendees with a ticket for that day.
