Real-world Trials in Spain showcase new Cybersecurity Tools for Autonomous and Connected Vehicles

article imageCatalonia has hosted the pilot trials of the European Selfy project, coordinated by the Eurecat technology centre, demonstrating the effectiveness of new self-assessment and self-protection tools designed to boost the resilience and cybersecurity of autonomous and connected vehicles in smart cities. The demonstrations, also repeated in Vienna, Austria, identified more than 95 % of vulnerable vehicles and over 90 % of the security breaches.

Six more Models earn highest IIHS Accolade

article imageSix models from four different brands earn 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards in the latest batch of vehicle ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Hyundai Elantra, Kia K4 and Toyota Prius are all small cars. The Hyundai Sonata is a midsize car, the Toyota bZ4X is an electric small SUV, and the Nissan Murano is a midsize SUV. All are 2025 models.

Latin NCAP's latest Result: Peugeot 2008 disappoints with one Star

U.S. Transportation Secretary streamlines Exemption Process for Noncompliant Automated Vehicles

article imageU.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will further accelerate the safe development of automated vehicles by streamlining the Part 555 exemption process. The exemption will continue to allow manufacturers to sell up to 2,500 motor vehicles per year that do not fully comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

New SAFER Project aims to save Lives - with Focus on Two-wheelers

NTSB publishes new Safety Recommendation for Commercial Vehicles

article imageDriver fatigue, inadequate company oversight and a critical lack of safe truck parking along the National Highway System led to a fatal collision on Interstate 70 in Highland, Illinois, the NTSB determined at a board meeting. As a result of this investigation, the NTSB is issuing 11 new recommendations and 2 reiterated recommendations to USDOT, the FMCSA, Greyhound Lines, the National Coalition on Truck Parking, the American Bus Association and the United Motorcoach Association.
