Successful automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2023!On April 25th and 26th, the 15th automotive CAE Grand Challenge took place in Hanau and on the Internet. In 7 sessions, speakers from industry, research and software development reported on their efforts to overcome the current, critical challenges of automotive CAE. In addition, attendees gained valuable information at workshops hosted by our partners Altair, ASC(S, BETA CAE Systems and Oasys LS-DYNA Environment and from the 16 exhibitors. The next automotive CAE Grand Challenge will take place on April 16th and 17th, 2024! read more ... Seminar: Python Based Machine Learning with Automotive ApplicationsThe topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently becoming more and more dominant, especially in areas where processes are automated and lots of data are processed. Especially in the automotive environment, numerous applications are conceivable, both in virtual development and in testing. The seminar is aimed at interested parties in the CAE or test environment who want to take the first steps in machine learning based on their Python knowledge. read more ... AIMM Project Systematization of Load Case Definition in Component TestsComponent tests are complex and expensive. Therefore, it is necessary to perform them in such a way that maximum benefit can be derived from the data obtained. In the currently running AIMM project (Artificial Intelligence for Material Models), novel material models based on Machine Learning (ML) are being developed. Component tests are used to validate such models. With their help, the model should ideally be validated at all theoretically possible strain states. Therefore, in a suitable test, as many of these states as possible must occur in the component during loading.

RC Cars, VR, and Haptic Feedback Transform Automotive EngineeringEngineering students test their algorithms on scaled vehicles: Classroom experience only gets you so far when studying automotive engineering. But testing full-sized cars requires a lot of space for a test track and lots of money for vehicles. As a result, many engineering programs are unable to provide students with the level of hands-on experience they need to work in the industry. Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) found a creative way for students to gain this hands-on experience.
