Euro NCAP 2022 Best in Class Results

Euro NCAP presents the winners from 2022, the safety organisation s busiest-ever year. The winners are the following: Hyundai IONIQ 6 wins the best-in-class award in the Large Family Car category; the ORA Funky Cat in the Small Family Car Category; Tesla Model S in the Executive Car category; Tesla Model Y in the Small Off-Roader category and finally WEY Coffee 01 in the Large Off-Roader category.

New SAFER Human Body Model Project

NTSB Safety Research Report Alcohol, Other Drug, and Multiple Drug Use Among Drivers

article imageIn the safety research report, the NTSB examined the crash risk associated with different drugs - including alcohol, cannabis, prescription, over-the-counter and other drugs - and the prevalence of their use among drivers. The report also makes recommendations aimed at preventing crashes caused by impaired drivers.

Continental and Ambarella partner on Assisted and Automated Driving Systems with full Software Stack

The two companies will jointly develop scalable, end-to-end hardware and software solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI), for assisted and automated driving (AD), on the way to autonomous mobility. The strategic collaboration builds on Continental s announcement in November to integrate Ambarella's energy-efficient System-on-Chip (SoC) family into its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

ANCAP Top Safety Performers 2022

article imageANCAP SAFETY has revealed its top performing vehicles for the 2022 calendar year, and the overall top performers against 2020-2022 rating criteria. The Tesla Model Y (Small SUV) was the top performer for 2022, achieving an overall weighted score of 92.6 %. Achieving the second-highest overall weighted score for 2022 was the Lexus NX (Medium SUV) at 89.2 %. The third-highest overall score for 2022 was shared by the LDV MIFA 9 and LDV MIFA (People Movers) at 87.4 %.

In TRB Keynote, NTSB Chair focuses on Safety Impact of Electric Vehicles

Remote-controlled Cars? Vay relies on TÜV SÜD for Safety

article imageThe idea of using remote control for delivering cars to, and collecting them from, customers comes from Berlin-based startup Vay Technology GmbH. Vay is on track to launch the first teledriven fleet without on-board safety operators on public roads in Hamburg. Vay s partner for safety and security is TÜV SÜD. TÜV SÜD s automated driving experts reviewed the concept and performed extensive tests and technical inspections for single-vehicle approval, focusing on vehicle safety, functional safety, cybersecurity and wireless connectivity.

CMVSS 141 New Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles published

article imageProtecting all Canadians is a priority for the Government of Canada, and quiet motors can sometimes pose a safety risk when it comes to hybrid and electrical vehicles. That s why we are taking steps to increase the safety of all road users. The Canadian government publishes CMVSS 141 New Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, which mandates minimum levels of noise for hybrid and electric vehicles. The new requirement came into effect on December 21, 2022.
