Autoliv to launch its first Motorcycle Airbag in 2025Autoliv, Inc., is pioneering improved safety for 200 million road users through its holistic approach to motorcycle and scooter safety. The first new motorcycle safety product to reach the market will be the bag-on-bike airbag, with production beginning in Q1 2025. The bag-on-bike airbag can significantly reduce the risk of serious injury for powered two-wheeler riders in frontal crashes.

Subaru's Bicyclist Detection shows positive ResultsEarly versions of Subaru's EyeSight crash avoidance system prevented real-world crashes with bicyclists traveling parallel to the road, a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. However, they were only modestly successful in reducing crashes with bicyclists overall. The automaker recently rolled out changes to the system that could make it more effective at recognizing cyclists in the most common crash scenario.

Under the terms of the multi-year contract, ST will supply a volume of double-digit millions of silicon carbide devices that will be integrated in ZF's new modular inverter architecture going into series production in 2025. ZF will leverage ST's vertically integrated silicon carbide manufacturing in Europe and Asia to secure customer orders in electromobility.

As long as the human driver is responsible for part(s) of the driving task during automated driving, the driver and automated driving system are sharing the driving task. Such a shared task is characterized by shared control, in which cooperation between the driver and vehicle automation is essential. However, means to holistically assess the quality of this cooperation are currently lacking.
