 Autoliv to launch its first Motorcycle Airbag in 2025Autoliv, Inc., is pioneering improved safety for 200 million road users through its holistic approach to motorcycle and scooter safety. The first new motorcycle safety product to reach the market will be the bag-on-bike airbag, with production beginning in Q1 2025. The bag-on-bike airbag can significantly reduce the risk of serious injury for powered two-wheeler riders in frontal crashes.

Euro NCAP has been evaluating Assisted Driving systems for the past three years, and the latest batch of gradings reveal just how good these systems are. Euro NCAP releases the results of gradings for three vehicles - the Renault Austral, Nissan Ariya, and the Alfa Romeo Tonale.
Early versions of Subaru's EyeSight crash avoidance system prevented real-world crashes with bicyclists traveling parallel to the road, a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. However, they were only modestly successful in reducing crashes with bicyclists overall. The automaker recently rolled out changes to the system that could make it more effective at recognizing cyclists in the most common crash scenario.
Magna strengthens its active safety business with the completion of its acquisition of Veoneer Active Safety from SSW Partners. Continental supplies Chinese car manufacturer Changan with its new generation of electronic brake systems for Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the MK 120 ESC. This marks the first time that the MK 120 ESC enters series production worldwide. Changan equips its latest Oshan X5 Plus and Uni-T models available in the Chinese market with the brake system. The latest generation of Continental s conventional electronic brake system is highly efficient, offers cyber security features and over-the-air (OTA) functionality, and can be easily installed in the vehicle.
ZF will, from 2025, purchase silicon carbide devices from STMicroelectronics. Under the terms of the multi-year contract, ST will supply a volume of double-digit millions of silicon carbide devices that will be integrated in ZF's new modular inverter architecture going into series production in 2025. ZF will leverage ST's vertically integrated silicon carbide manufacturing in Europe and Asia to secure customer orders in electromobility.
TransDigm Group has completed the previously announced acquisition of Calspan. The acquisition by TransDigm leaves Calspan well-positioned for future stability and success, affording a smooth and lasting transition from the company's legacy private ownership. Headquartered in Buffalo, NY, Calspan's organization will remain intact with no impact to staff or operations.
