Occupant protection starts with occupants seated in the correct seating position with a properly fitting seat belt. Using the vehicle's sensors, ZF's new, networked seat belt can actively shift occupants into a more optimal seating position prior to a potential collision. If the system is alerted to a potentially dangerous situation, the belt shifts the occupant in the seat which can enhance the functionality of the restrain system. The heart of the system is the ACR8 electromechanical belt tensioner which can also reduce belt slack or alert the driver by vibrating the belt webbing.
The new IIHS Spec2 model was developed as a Shell element model, providing a more accurate representation of the physical barrier. The current model (version 1.2.1) performed effectively for the new regulatory load case, generating results that consistently align with the defined corridors.
Humanetics and Mcity are collaborating to spearhead mobility innovation by providing access to leading-edge active safety testing technologies at the University of Michigan's Mcity Test Facility for joint development of advanced software and robots for new mobility applications. These tools will make it easier for commercial and academic researchers at the Mcity Test Facility to conduct comprehensive and accurate evaluations of emerging autonomous and ADAS technologies.

The technology is expected to become the latest innovation that significantly reduces nighttime car accidents for both drivers and pedestrians. HD Lighting System developed by Hyundai Mobis is a technology that visualizes road signs in text or shapes and projects on the road surface.
Toyota s Collaborative Safety Research Center announced plans to launch three new projects as part of its next phase of research, dedicated to advancing safety in mobility technologies. The research projects include an investigation on driver support features for vehicle lane centering, the creation of an in-vehicle intervention prototype to promote safe driving and the use of data to help improve technology to aid driver decision making to encourage safer driving behavior.
ams OSRAM introduces a ground-breaking innovation in automotive forward lighting with the launch of EVIYOS® 2.0, a new type of intelligent multipixel LED that enables fully adaptive, dynamic headlight operation and image projection. EVIYOS® 2.0 can selectively illuminate the road ahead to maximize the driver's view in high-beam mode without creating the glare typically experienced by other road users.
NHTSA has published a proposed rule governing the implementation of AEBS for passenger cars and light trucks. Vector Informatik GmbH fully acquires Chemnitz-based BASELABS GmbH. BASELABS was launched in spring 2012 as a technology transfer project at Chemnitz University of Technology. As early as 2014, Vector, the world's leading specialist for the development of automotive electronics, joined BASELABS GmbH as a strategic investor.
The TREND program supports "Traffic_Talk: 5G Application in V2X Sensor Networks." The consortium consists of the THI, the Czech Technical University Prague (CTU), and VDT Technology a.s. The aim of the project, which has received 555,000 in funding from the program, is to implement a system that will enable the commercial introduction of technologies for cooperative driving and autonomous traffic even without a power supply.
