 2024 KNCAP Protocols publishedKNCAP has updated several protocols for 2024 and 2025 in Korean. The major changes in 2024 is the integration of a 56 km/h MPDB test and a upgrade of the overall rating system. In 2025 KNCAP will integrate V2X communication devices to the rating system. And if they do, they are also penalized in crash tests by private institutions, as they are refused the top five-star rating in consumer protection tests in line with Euro NCAP standards.

Hesai Technology and dSPACE have entered into a technology partnership to accelerate the development of ADAS and level 4 autonomous driving applications. As part of the partnership, dSPACE has integrated sensor models from Hesai into the dSPACE sensor simulation solution AURELION. Developers can now easily access Hesai lidar models via AURELION.
The increasing number of electric vehicles leads to a growing demand for corresponding testing equipment. Conventional test beds for combustion engines are reaching their capacity limits. Unlike combustion engines, electric motors are capable of converting energy in the opposite direction. When an electric vehicle is decelerated, power is fed back into the battery. This now opens up entirely new concepts for testing methods that are comparatively simple and compact to use.
The development of new vehicles is often challenging during the initial phases of crash testing. Particularly during early program crash tests, the ability to efficiently use test articles while collecting the maximum amount of data is necessary to push the development further along.
