New SafetyWissen Poster published

The new SafetyWissen Posters 2021/2022 from carhs.training are now available. There are 3 different posters again this year: The NCAP Test Matrix gives an overview of the tests within the worldwide New Car Assessment Programs. The Global AEB Test Poster shows in which scenarios AEB systems are tested in type approval and consumer protection tests. The VRU Protection Poster shows the most important requirements for the protection of vulnerable road users. As of now, the new 2021/2022 editions of the 3 SafetyWissen posters can be ordered free of charge (shipping costs may apply).

CESVIMAP develops AEB Block Tester

article imageAmong the tests performed, more exhaustive AEB tests have been defined with objects which get in the way of target perception or disrupt it, in such a way that more realistic conditions are reproduced. CESVIMAP also experiments with offset tests and with different types of vehicle target. As a result, it has developed a test system for AEB which can be perceived by all the vehicle sensors and which is multipurpose; the system is called ABT or AEB Block Tester. It was very important for this purpose to design and build specific adapted targets.

(R)Evolutionary LED Lighting for high-speed Imaging M=LIGHT Evo

article imageThe M=LIGHT Evo from the German experts for safer mobility is a real quantum leap for efficient illumination and film documentation of crash testing. Indeed, MESSRING has succeeded in doubling the light output of the M=LIGHT Evo compared to its proven predecessor: with a connected load of 1,150W, the 48 highly efficient LEDs provide a luminous flux output of 120,000 lumens in standard mode and can be increased to up to 260,000 lumens in flash mode. All this at a constant power input and available in continuous operation.

TÜV Rheinland: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems not always reliable in long-term Operation

article imageADAS contribute significantly to improved road safety and are therefore becoming increasingly mandatory. However, they must be reliably maintained and checked throughout a vehicle s entire lifetime. Otherwise, they can become a risk factor themselves. According to projections by experts from TÜV Rheinland and TRL, there could be an average of around 790,000 risk events per year on roads in the European Union (EU) in 2029 that are attributable solely to reduced performance of lane keeping assistant systems.
