 Workshops at the C-NCAP Update: BMW, BYD & NIOAs part of the "C-NCAP and C-ICAP - Introduction and UpDates" event this week, workshops will be held with current vehicle models from BMW (iX), BYD (SEAL) and Nio (eT7). During these workshops, C-NCAP experts will use the vehicles on display to explain their safety assessments under the Chinese New Car Assessment Programs. Traditionally providing consumers with information on car safety, Euro NCAP announces that the safety organisation will expand its scope even further to provide detailed safety information about the 
Continental has expanded its digital access system CoSmA by a Child-Presence-Detection function (CPD) for even more passenger safety. Continental's Child Presence Detection function uses ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to prevent such tragedies in the future. It detects a child in the cabin and sends out a warning within seconds. The CPD function also addresses vehicle manufacturer's needs to meet in-cabin safety targets in view of the upcoming Euro NCAP safety rating and US regulations, which are driving for new child safety requirements in the vehicle by 2025.
With the launch of Truck Label, Euro NCAP is taking a critical step towards improving road safety and reducing the number of accidents involving heavy vehicles, by expanding its testing program to include heavy trucks. AstaZero is proud to have contributed to this effort, both directly to the test method design and through a collection of benchmark data on current trucks' performance levels.

Together with AVL, VIRTUAL VEHICLE is testing autonomous driving in Graz on a route with major challenges, namely with increased pedestrian volumes in combination with public transport. With 69 partners, the project is considered the largest European research project to date in the field of testing automated vehicles. AVES Reality and dSPACE have entered into a technology partnership so that developers of autonomous vehicles can validate sensors and algorithms in virtual test drives in a range of realistic scenarios. AVES Reality provides synthetic environments for AURELION, the dSPACE sensor simulation solution, thereby extending the existing content provision.
Commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, SWOV investigated whether and how Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) systems and Automated Driving Systems(ADS) for self-driving vehicles are based on the so-called UCD approach: the User-Centred Design, in which human factors are central for safe interaction with the automated systems.
